(Patria) - The US State Department called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to "immediately stop this bloodshed and withdraw troops from Ukrainian territory".
In a statement, the US also accused Russia of launching a "full-scale assault on media freedom and truth by blocking access to independent news organizations, preventing them from broadcasting information about the invasion".
The US also stated that Russia is trying to suppress social networks such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, which, according to the State Department's statement, have enabled millions of Russians to access independent information and connect with each other around the world, Index reports.
