American skiers to race with black armbands on Sljeme in memory of fallen colleagues

The tragedy in Austrian Sölden has shaken the American skiers who are performing today at the Snow Queen in Croatia, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

During training at the Austrian ski resort, an avalanche killed two young American ski team members, Ronnie Berlack and Bryce Astle, due to whose deaths the performance of the American team in front of the Zagreb audience today was in question.

In their memory, writes Jutarnji list, the Americans will race with black armbands on Sljeme today.

Ronnie Berlack and Bryce Astle were part of the American ski team which has its training base in Sölden.

The duo was part of a group of six skiers who were descending from the slope, when for some reason they deviated from the marked trail, thus causing an avalanche in which Berlack and Astle lost their lives.

The other four skiers managed to save themselves, writes Jutarnji, reports Patria.
