US Senators and Congressmen Leave Briefing: Trump Launched Illegal War Against Iran, No Data They Would Attack US

(Patria) - Several senators and congressmen left the briefing on the attack on Iran led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and CIA Director John Ratcliffe and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine.

Senator Ed Markey took to platform X stating that President Donald Trump launched an illegal war and has no plan to end it.

"Trump is lying about Iran's nuclear capabilities and dragging the US into another war in the Middle East. The war in Iran must stop immediately," Markey emphasized.

Senator Chris van Hollen stated that they have heard different versions from Donald Trump.

"First he promised that the US would not be drawn into wars. Then that they had harmed Iran last year, and now that they want to destroy Iranian ballistic missiles. Iran does not have ballistic missiles that can hit the US. Donald Trump claims he will liberate the people in Iran. However, if we look at the CIA's estimates, if their leadership is removed, you might get even more radical groups. Secretary Rubio said that Israel decided to attack Iran, and here we are now doing what Netanyahu has wanted to do for 40 years. Only Netanyahu hasn't found a president foolish enough to do it before. And now Donald Trump has done it, and they have no idea how it will end."

Today, Congress was finally briefed on Trump's war of choice in Iran.

Congressman Seth Magaziner stated on X that there is no intelligence data that Iran intended to attack the US.

"The administration has no plan for what will happen after the war in Iran ends. Iran is a country of 90 million people, and the question being asked is why we have entered another war in the Middle East, and unfortunately, the Trump administration is not providing any answers to Congress, the Senate, or the American people."

Senator Andy Kim stated that the US administration has no plan on how to help American citizens in the Middle East, nor have they considered it when they started the war with Iran.

"This is a war that the American people and Congress do not approve of. This is reckless and dangerous, six American soldiers have already been killed, and the administration states that this number will increase," Kim said.

Congresswoman Melanie Stansbury, in her address, asked if those who initiated the attack had read the US Constitution. She asked why schools and hospitals in Iran were bombed.

At a media briefing, Rubio attempted to correct his statement, stating that US President Donald Trump made the decision to attack, believing that "Iran is now at its weakest," not that it was Israel's decision, although he said the same day that they knew about Israel's attack and wanted to take preemptive steps before Iran responded to the attack.
