US Senator close to Trump: So-called dictator Dodik fled to Russia like Assad

(Patria) - Chuck Grassley, a Republican senator close to US President Donald Trump, has again criticized the president of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik.

"Like Assad in Syria, so-called dictator Dodik is fleeing to Russia seeking safe haven.

He will soon face justice in Bosnia and Herzegovina for his failed attempt to break up the country and stop its European integration," Grassley wrote on platform X.

We remind you that during his address to the US Senate about twenty days ago, Grassley stated that he would actively work with the Trump administration to stop a potential new genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- I want to remind you of the genocide in the 90s in the Western Balkans and the Dayton Peace Agreement that ended the genocide. For years, the president of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, has been threatening to secede Republika Srpska. Genocide happened because of people like Dodik.

His predecessor Karadžić is serving a life sentence for war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide. Many Bosnians fled to Iowa because of the crimes and enriched our community - Grassley said at the time.

He reminded that Dodik was convicted for unconstitutional actions, rejecting the authority of state institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
