US Senate Approves Draft Defense Budget of $886 Billion for Next Year

(Patria) - The US Congress Senate approved the draft defense budget for fiscal year 2024, worth a record $886.3 billion. A total of 62 senators voted in favor, and 10 were against, Tass agency reported.

After the Senate approves it, the 3,000-page National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2024 will be sent to the House of Representatives.

The document allocates $300 million for financial assistance to Ukraine in 2024. It is planned that another $300 million will be allocated for this purpose in fiscal year 2025.
The total defense budget will amount to a record $886 billion, three percent more than last year.

After both houses of the US Congress approve it, the document will go to US President Joe Biden for signature.
