U.S. Senate Confirms Nicole McGraw as New Ambassador to Croatia

(Patria) - The U.S. Senate today confirmed Nicole McGraw as the new Ambassador of the United States of America to Croatia.

"Congratulations to Nicole McGraw on her confirmation by the U.S. Senate as Ambassador to Croatia.

We look forward to welcoming her to Zagreb and working under her leadership to advance U.S. interests and deepen the strong ties between our countries," the U.S. Embassy announced on the X platform.

A photo of the new ambassador with U.S. President Donald Trump was "attached" to the announcement.

The State Department describes McGraw on its website as a dynamic entrepreneur, philanthropist, and leader in international cooperation in the fields of art, technology, and business.

It is stated that she led an internationally recognized art gallery and was one of the first gallerists to exhibit Cuban art.

This experience fueled her passion for bridging cultural differences through creative initiatives, the State Department writes.

McGraw, an art historian, later served as director of NFT Group, where she led the integration of digital art and blockchain technology.

The new ambassador also founded the non-profit organization CANVAS Art Charities, which revitalized urban spaces through art.

In April, during her hearing before the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, McGraw emphasized that during her mandate in Croatia, she would have four priorities: economic and cultural diplomacy, security cooperation, American excellence, and the protection of U.S. citizens abroad.

She added that she would work to protect American interests in Croatian strategic sectors such as ports, telecommunications, and energy.

She also emphasized that Croatia is increasing its defense spending and working on modernizing its armed forces, which presents an opportunity for American companies for joint investments and technological transfers.

McGraw also stated that she would strongly advocate for American investments, highlighting the LNG terminal on Krk, which can ensure Europe's independence from Russian energy sources, but also increase U.S. energy exports.

She stressed the importance of building the South Interconnection gas pipeline between Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

She also announced that she would encourage American technology companies to invest in Croatia, thereby cementing Croatia's status as a technology hub.
