US Aircraft Carrier USS Abraham Lincoln Spotted 200 km from Iran

(Patria) - The American aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln has entered the Gulf of Oman and is now about 200 km south of the Iranian coast, the BBC reported, citing satellite data, according to TASS.

According to the BBC, this is the closest position of an American ship to Iran since the beginning of the American attack on Iran.

The carrier strike group also includes two guided-missile destroyers.

The United States and Iran held a series of talks on a long-term solution in Islamabad on April 11. The Iranian delegation was led by Speaker of the House Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. The American delegation was led by Vice President J.D. Vance. The negotiations failed.

The United States announced plans to impose a naval blockade on Iran starting April 13.
