US and Syrian forces destroyed fifteen ISIS weapons sites in southern Syria

(Patria) - The US military announced on Sunday that US and Syrian forces recently destroyed fifteen ISIS weapons sites in southern Syria, Al Arabiya reported.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that storage facilities, located throughout the Rif Dimashq province, were identified and eliminated during a series of airstrikes and ground detonations conducted between November 24 and 27.

"The joint operation destroyed over 130 mortars and rockets, multiple assault rifles, machine guns, anti-tank mines, and materials for building improvised explosive devices," CENTCOM stated.

"This successful operation ensures that gains made against ISIS are enduring and that the group is unable to regenerate or export terrorist attacks into the homeland and around the world," said CENTCOM Commander Brad Cooper.

"We will remain vigilant and continue to aggressively pursue ISIS remnants in Syria," he added.
