(Patria) - The US Army announced last night the loss of a refueling aircraft over Iraq.
"The US Central Command is aware of the loss of a US KC-135 refueling aircraft. The incident occurred in friendly airspace during Operation Epic Fury, and rescue operations are underway," CENTCOM said in a statement, Al Arabiya reported."
The statement added that two aircraft were involved in the incident. One of the aircraft crashed in western Iraq, and the other landed safely.
"This was not due to enemy or friendly fire," CENTCOM stated.
