Ambassador Nelson: Do not take equipment from Chinese companies

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - BiH should not take equipment from Chinese companies, said the US Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Eric Nelson, on his LinkedIn social network profile.

Nelson stated that he spoke with the Minister of Communications and Transport of BiH, Vojin Mitrović, about the importance of ensuring the security of all data and communications transmitted via 5G networks and the US government's initiative for "clean network traffic coming into our facilities".

"We need to ensure that Huawei or ZTE equipment, as well as other unreliable manufacturers, is not used, preventing them from disabling, denying, or compromising telecommunications services for all citizens, companies, governments, and critical infrastructure. I also discussed the interest of American companies in investing in Bosnia and Herzegovina and bringing American technology and expertise to BiH," Nelson wrote.
