Croatian Ambassador Rejects Minister Košarac's Accusations Regarding Trgovska Gora

(Patria) - Croatian Ambassador to BiH Ivan Sabolić reacted to the latest statements by the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, Staša Košarac, that Croatia is not providing BiH with documents related to the environmental impact study for the disposal of radioactive waste at Trgovska Gora and is thus trying to avoid BiH's reaction.

The Ambassador rejects the accusations of the BiH minister and points out that at the end of last month, Croatia diplomatically informed BiH about the current procedure for determining the content of the environmental impact study for the disposal of radioactive waste at the Čerkezovac location on Trgovska Gora.

In a statement to Fena, he points out that BiH was invited, in accordance with the Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment in a Transboundary Context, to officially indicate its potential intention to participate in the aforementioned environmental impact assessment procedure within the appropriate timeframe and to submit any comments and proposals that it considers should be considered in the study.

Minister Košarac announced on Thursday that the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH has not received any official information from Croatia regarding the request for instructions on the content of the environmental impact study for the Radioactive Waste Disposal Center at Trgovska Gora.

He also requested an urgent reaction from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Elmedin Konaković, and emphasized that he had informed the Ambassador of BiH to Croatia, as well as the Ambassador of Croatia to BiH, about the new situation and requested a meeting with the latter as soon as possible.
