Ambassador Erginay: Turkey encourages investments in BiH and supports accelerated formation of government

Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Bosnia and Herzegovina Cihad Erginay said that, in addition to BiH being a friendly and brotherly country for Turkey, it is also one of our most important partners in the region, reports the Patria news agency.

Incidentally, today Ambassador Erginay was the introductory speaker at the regular weekly session of the Association of Independent Intellectuals “Krug 99”.

- BiH is one of the most important partners in the Balkan region, and Turkey's comprehensive and intensive relations with the Balkan countries play a decisive role in foreign policy – said Erginay.

Speaking on the topic "What does Turkey want in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region?", the Turkish ambassador recalled that millions of Turkish citizens originate from the Balkans, having emigrated to that country in the past, and they represent a kind of bridge of cooperation with this region and contribute to the preservation of historical, cultural and interpersonal ties.

At the same time, he emphasized that his country is making efforts to raise the level of political stability and economic development in the region and in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He added that, in order to strengthen the internal stability and economic development of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey encourages investments in BiH and supports the accelerated formation of government after the October general elections.

- Within the importance it attaches to the internal stability and external security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the aim of completing the process of joining the European Union (EU) and NATO as soon as possible, our country strives to give its constructive contribution on every occasion, either through support for steps taken in BiH or those under the auspices of NATO and the EU - said Erginay.
