Embassy of Turkey in BiH: Revision of the verdict is a legal, not a political issue

The Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Sarajevo today commented on the joint statement of the Peace Implementation Council (PIC) member states. The press release states that the request for revision of the verdict in the lawsuit of Bosnia and Herzegovina against Serbia is a legal issue, writes Patria.

- The issue being discussed is a purely legal issue. It is about the choice related to the use of legal rights granted by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on a matter that is within the full jurisdiction of that court - the Turkish Embassy's statement reads.

They emphasized that it is not a political issue.

- This is not a political issue. The Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council (PIC) cannot influence the issue being discussed. Therefore, the Ambassador of Turkey decided not to support the paragraph of the statement of the ambassadors of the PIC Steering Board adopted on February 23 - the statement reads.

PIC member states adopted a joint statement at today's extraordinary session expressing concern about the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
