A press release has arrived from the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in BiH, which the BiH news agency Patria relays in its entirety.
"As is known to the public of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in order to support the return of war-displaced persons, Turkey granted Bosnia and Herzegovina a loan worth 100 million euros, with a repayment period of 10 years, and this amount has been almost entirely realized through Ziraat Bank BH and BBI bank.
During the visit of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, Ali Babacan, to Bosnia and Herzegovina in May 2014, the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bakir Izetbegović, proposed that Turkey grant an additional 50 million euros in loans, and he followed up on this topic during his visits to Turkey and visits of Turkish officials to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Similar proposals were also conveyed to the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey through contacts with municipal officials and businessmen from various cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The mentioned proposals were considered, and it was decided that Turkey, in order to support the development of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian economy and create opportunities for new jobs, will grant additional loan funds worth 50 million euros.
