US Embassy and FBI Express Support for the Work of the Operational Group for Combating Terrorism

A meeting of the Operational Group for Combating Terrorism was held today at the BiH Prosecutor's Office, chaired by Chief Prosecutor Goran Salihović, reports the Patria News Agency.

Representatives of all police and security agencies in BiH at the state, entity, and Brčko District of BiH levels participated in the meeting.

It was agreed that the members of the Operational Group, from all police and security agencies, will be in constant and daily contact and communication for the exchange of data, information, and findings that can be linked to terrorism or terrorist activities, persons of security interest, as well as the dangers of terrorism.

This Operational Group will initiate activities to develop regional cooperation with partner agencies in the region, in order to collect information on potential terrorist threats as effectively as possible.

Representatives of the US Embassy and the FBI expressed support for the work of the Operational Group for Combating Terrorism. In the next period, a list of appointed members in the Operational Group, who will represent the police and security agencies they come from within the group's work, will be sent to the Council of Ministers for confirmation.

The BiH Prosecutor's Office continues intensive activities in the fight against terrorism, as well as the detection, prevention, and mitigation of any terrorist activities, it was announced from the BiH Prosecutor's Office.
