US Embassy: We call on all parties to respect this verdict

(Patria) - The US Embassy in Sarajevo welcomes today's verdict of the Appellate Chamber of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Courts in the case against Radovan Karadžić.

"This decision represents an important step towards holding individuals accountable who caused terrible suffering to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while at the same time bringing closure to the victims and their families and a sense that justice has been served, at least to some extent.

We call on all parties to respect this verdict and to once again turn to continuous engagement in reconciliation and peaceful coexistence, which are essential for the future of a stable, secure Bosnia and Herzegovina in which the rights of all its citizens are protected," the US Embassy in Sarajevo announced.
