The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Prague is sponsoring an exhibition of photographs by renowned Bosnian-Herzegovinian photographer Milomir Kovačević Strašni. The exhibition opened at the French Institute in Prague, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH announced, reports the Patria news agency.
The Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Czech Republic, Danka Savić, thanked the French Institute for participating in the organization of such an exhibition when opening it.
Given that BiH photographer Kovačević has been living in Paris for years, the exhibition symbolically connects three cities: Paris, Prague, and Sarajevo. The exhibited photographs were taken over a period of six years and speak of gatherings and socializing, the culture of Parisian cafes where Kovačević compensated for everything he lost by leaving Sarajevo - an urban corner that connected people who shared the same values, said Ambassador Savić.
"Petit trou de Bretagne, as this bar, according to Milomir, was the 'most Sarajevan' bar in Paris, was his world, his city where he found himself and enjoyed conversations with friends, where exhibitions were held, and just like in Sarajevo, it was his way of life," Ambassador Savić added in her speech.
The exhibition at the French Institute in Prague, sponsored by the BiH Embassy, will be open until the middle of next month.
