"Aluminij" Mostar is a victim of criminalized HDZ BiH cadres

"Aluminij" Mostar is a victim of the policy of HDZ BiH and criminalized cadres of this party who had sovereign control over the Mostar combine for as long as 21 years, from 1992 to 2013. During that period, representatives of the FBiH institutions were practically not allowed to enter the premises of this company, it was announced from the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

Statements by Dragan Čović, president of HDZ BiH, that they now have to save "Aluminij", in which the former government and former management incurred a debt of 300 million KM, are not only false and malicious, but also an insult to the common sense of all citizens of BiH.

The Social Democratic Party of BiH wishes to point out a few facts to Čović.

The Government of the Federation of BiH did not have any management or ownership rights in "Aluminij" d.d. Mostar before September 2013. Only then did the FBiH become the owner of 44 percent of the capital of the Mostar combine. The debt Čović speaks of was largely incurred in the period before that and is the result of the work, or rather, the thievery of the then managements of Aluminij and their political sponsors who come precisely from the party led by Čović.

These debts are the result of illegal and harmful contracts with suppliers, and the fact that "Aluminij" almost completely failed to pay for electricity supplied by "Elektroprivreda HZHB" during the period 2011-2013.

We remind Čović that in September 2013, immediately after its representatives entered "Aluminij" d.d. Mostar, the FBiH Government requested an investigation from the FBiH Financial Police. The Financial Police determined numerous irregularities which resulted in the enormous debt in which "Aluminij" finds itself today. On the list of those who destroyed "Aluminij" in this way over more than two decades are a large number of HDZ BiH cadres, and we expect the competent prosecutor's office to prosecute this obvious crime as soon as possible. We suggest to Čović that if he truly wishes well for "Aluminij" and its workers, he should remove these individuals from HDZ, instead of bringing them back into "Aluminij" with great fanfare today.

We also tell the president of HDZ that we in the Social Democratic Party do not view the public goods of this country as the property of any nation.

The state share of "Aluminij" d.d. Mostar is the property of all citizens of FBiH, which includes former workers of this company who were driven out of "Aluminij" by HDZ simply because they had different names. Likewise, the state share in, for example, "BH Telecom" is the property of all citizens. The ethnic division of everything in BiH, which Čović and his followers advocate, is a policy that leads to the disintegration of BiH, and such a policy will always have the greatest opponent in the SDP of BiH. We in the SDP will continue to fight for the preservation of the public goods of the citizens of this country, regardless of Čović and those like him who believe they are actually party ATMs.
