Member of the BiH Presidency and President of HDZ BiH Dragan Čović visited Stolac today, where he condemned the events of October 2nd, during the local elections which led to the suspension of elections in this area, the BiH Presidency announced.
He met with the President of the Municipal Board of HDZ BiH and the Mayor of Stolac, Stjepan Bošković, at the premises of the Stolac Municipality.
The meeting was also attended by the presidency of the Municipal Board, as well as the presidents of all Basic Organizations of HDZ BiH Stolac, and a member of the Presidency of HDZ BiH and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Federation of BiH Parliament, Mladen Bošković.
The attendees condemned this act where the right of the citizens of Stolac municipality to democratic expression of their electoral will was directly obstructed through a brutal destructive rampage, alienation and destruction of official state materials, and assault on innocent people, i.e., officials responsible for conducting the elections.
Everything indicates that this is another well-organized and carefully planned event aimed at obstructing the democratic development of BiH in the context of approaching the European Union. Therefore, the attack on Stolac is also an attack on the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and a direct threat to its European future, and deserves the decisive condemnation of the organizers and perpetrators of the unfortunate event and all those who, through their public appearances, want to make Stolac a test case – it was stated in the announcement from the BiH Presidency.
Čović gave full support to the local community, and emphasized that they should not fall for provocations that someone sold Stolac for greater interests. He stressed that he is proud of the Croats of Stolac and all other citizens who did not fall for the provocations and destructive rampages imposed on Stolac.
However, after such words, Čović does not explain who attacked Stolac!? And does it mean that electoral engineering must be allowed to go unpunished, because otherwise, someone is attacking the state! As a true statesman, he should leave the final conclusions to the investigative bodies, but Čović only thinks about one thing, and that is the plan to round off the third electoral unit, as he likes to call it.
Does this mean that only a Croat can be the head of Stolac, otherwise the system, democracy, and ultimately the state are violated?
If the situation in Stolac is an attack on the state, what is Mostar then, Dragan Čović?
Then it is an attack on common sense!
Due to the non-implementation of the Constitutional Court's Decision for the City of Mostar, local elections in the City on the Neretva River were not held on Sunday, October 2nd. Mostar residents have thus been prevented from electing a mayor and City Council for the second time. Who is to blame for this?
This, Čović, is obstruction of democratic development and a disgrace to the ruling parties, because you are unable to provide the citizens of Mostar with a basic human right – the right to elect and be elected.
The silence of HDZ's coalition partners in government, SDA and SBB, regarding the messages Čović is sending, which ultimately outline what Čović wants – the so-called Herceg-Bosna – is interesting, and if someone stands in the way of that, they are a destroyer of democracy!
For now, according to Čović's definition, neither Bakir Izetbegović nor Fahrudin Radončić are, and they should be, at least in the name of the "unity" they invoke.
