SARAJevo, (Patria) - Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina and former SDS president Mladen Bosić said that the excise duties adopted by BiH early Friday morning are nothing more than a tax on fuel, and that the adoption of excise duties serves exclusively the interests of entity governments, because, as he pointed out, they will receive enormous amounts of money, or their public companies will receive the money, "where political parties still appoint their people".
"That is an enormous amount of money," Bosić said on Centralni dnevnik on FACE TV on Friday evening.
"But there is another segment to this," Bosić added, explaining that after the adoption of excise duties, the IMF will approve the investment loans for BiH that have been mentioned in the public, but will also approve loans for the budget, which governments can spend as they see fit.
When asked if foreign entities are paying for the current political leadership to remain in power with these loans, Bosić said that he cannot claim that, but the situation supports that thesis.
"Why do you think foreigners want a stable and prosperous situation here?" Bosić said.
He believes that the drama surrounding the adoption of excise duties was imported into Bosnia and Herzegovina. The need of international financial institutions is to place their surplus money in BiH, primarily, Bosić said, he thinks of the EBRD, and then to ensure that the state will be able to repay that money, which they have received through the new fuel tax. Bosić said he is amazed at how much energy the international community has spent on adopting excise duties.
"Sunday, it's snowing, Wigemark gets in the car to go to Bijeljina to one of our MPs to see if he can persuade him," Bosić said, reports Patria agency.
When asked if it is true that BiH Parliament MP Diana Zelenika changed her mind and her vote decided the adoption of excise duties, Bosić said that it is no secret. He added that Wigemark also invited some other MPs for coffee, including three MPs from the Independent Bloc, who refused to vote for the adoption of excise duties.
Bosić believes that the manipulation of citizens in BiH is enormous, primarily by manipulating fears, and that citizens must move away from the difficult past, which the government uses. "Citizens must start thinking about what is in their personal interest," Bosić concluded.
