'ACTIONS' DURING THE NIGHT: Destruction of the 'Četvorka' posters continues in Sarajevo

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Since the beginning of the election campaign, political parties have been facing low blows from opponents and rivals. This is most evident in the Canton of Sarajevo, where two clear blocs have emerged: on one side the SDA, and on the other the 'Četvorka' parties (NIP, SDP BiH, Naša stranka, NBL) gathered around common candidates for nine municipalities in KS.

Destruction of posters, billboards, accusations – all of this has marked this year's election campaign in recent days. This morning, in Alipašina Street, in the immediate vicinity of the SDP BiH building, the poster of Belma Kapo, a candidate for the Centar Municipal Council, was destroyed. Not only was the glass broken, but the frame of the advertising space was completely destroyed.

SDP BiH posters were also targeted in Hrasnica, where not only were the posters removed, but the glass on a private property was also broken. This was pointed out by the 'Četvorka' candidate for mayor of Ilidža, Nermin Muzur, emphasizing that this "shows the panic of the ruling structures and some paid individuals who caused damage to private property and smashed the portals of this facility.".

In the municipality of Stari Grad, the destruction of election posters of the Independent Bosnian-Herzegovinian List (NBL) was recorded, whose president is Ibrahim Hadžibajrić, who is also a candidate for mayor and a favorite in the upcoming elections. Thus, the faces of the candidates were crossed out on all billboards placed at one of the locations in Stari Grad, and an attempt was even made to remove a banner near the Bistrička station, featuring Ibrahim Hadžibajrić and Mirza Batalović, the holder of the list for the Stari Grad Municipal Council.

The Independent Bosnian-Herzegovinian List has reported this incident to the competent authorities, who are expected to identify and sanction the perpetrators.

"Such behavior by individuals and the destruction of property is unacceptable. We consider this vandalism to be an immature display of frustration by individuals who are clearly intimidated by the strength and support that the NBL has in the municipality of Stari Grad. We tell the individuals behind these acts that their vandalism and cheap populist moves will not stop us. You can destroy our posters, but not the trust and reputation we have gained among the citizens. Try to learn what responsible behavior and fair campaigning are until the end of the election campaign, because your actions speak about you, not about us," said Hadžibajrić.
