On Thursday, June 5th, starting at 7:00 PM, a gathering of prominent writers Goran Samardžić, Ljubica Ostojić, Zilhad Ključanin, Mujo Musagić, Sabina Malićbegović, Fuad Kovač, Marina Brkić will be held at the Maglaj Public Library, along with the opening of an art exhibition by Zekerijah Nalić, an academic painter from Sarajevo, organized by the Writers' Association of BiH, reports the BiH news agency Patria.
The program will also feature the renowned actress Minka Muftić, all with the aim of collecting books to replenish the library's collection. We remind you that in the unprecedented floods, about 28,000 books were lost out of a total of 40,000 that this library had. Thanks to the employees who raised books onto high shelves before the floods, significant and old editions of works by the Bosnian writer Edhem Mulabdić, a native of Maglaj, were saved.
After the floods, numerous book collection drives were launched for this library, as well as for other libraries that were destroyed. Incidentally, this year the Public Library will mark its 56th anniversary in a renovated and enriched space, reports NAP.
