UIO OPERATION Seized various truck and car parts

(Patria) - Authorized officers of the Indirect Taxation Authority, Regional Center Tuzla, in an operational action codenamed "DAF", as well as at the Tuzla Customs Post and the Karakaj Border Crossing
have seized a large quantity of various truck and car parts worth BAM 145,000.

In the operational action codenamed "DAF", authorized officers of RC Tuzla temporarily seized items from a natural person for which there was no legally prescribed documentation.
Namely, authorized officers of the Smuggling Prevention Group, based on available information about irregularities in the business operations of a certain natural person, checked the trade and origin of goods at 2 locations and found a large quantity of foreign goods for which there was no legally prescribed documentation. These were truck headlights, truck electronics, filters, various parts for heavy goods vehicles, i.e., 1786 pieces of parts for heavy goods vehicles.

Authorized officers of the Smuggling and Violation Prevention Group, Department for Enforcement of Regulations RC Tuzla, during detailed inspections using specialized equipment at the Tuzla Customs Post and Karakaj Border Crossing, found undeclared goods (car parts, chainsaws, trimmers, various equipment) where legal and natural persons intended to go through customs procedures without paying import duties.
The value of the seized goods in these operational actions is BAM 145,000.00.

During the measures taken within their jurisdiction, specialized equipment and vehicles donated to the UIO by the American Embassy through the EXBS program were used.
