SKY Operation: Three Tons of Drugs and a Large Amount of Money Seized

(Patria) - By order of the prosecutor from the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, SIPA police officers carried out arrests and searches of suspects as part of the "Sky" operation. These activities are a continuation of operations aimed at detecting and dismantling smuggling chains of the narcotic drug marijuana "skunk", from Albania through Montenegro and BiH, towards EU countries, which were carried out in previous months in the operations "Petrol Line", "24" and "24+" in which, in the area of ​​East Sarajevo (Krupac), the Gradiška border crossing and Gabeli near Čapljina, individual seizures of several hundred kilograms of narcotic drugs intended for the drug market of EU countries were carried out, the value of which on the illegal market reaches multi-million amounts, it was announced from the BiH Prosecutor's Office.

Within the activities of the BiH Prosecutor's Office, together with partner law enforcement agencies in BiH and the countries of the region, the smuggling of large quantities of the narcotic drug marijuana-"skunk" has been documented, most often in truck transports, after which more than 2.5 tons of narcotic drugs were intercepted and seized in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The illegal property gain, acquired by the suspects who were deprived of liberty through smuggling, is estimated at more than 2 million KM.

These activities, which are the result of good cooperation between institutions within BiH, as well as effective international cooperation, have dealt a serious blow to the structures of the drug mafia in BiH and the region.

Today's activities represent the final activities of the conducted operations, after which the activities will focus on filing indictments against the suspects who were deprived of liberty.

In the action so far, a larger quantity of cannabis narcotic drug, three encrypted phones, several mobile phones, several hundred thousand euros, as well as other items related to these criminal offenses have been found and seized.
