SIPA Operation: Two Persons Deprived of Liberty for Unauthorised Possession of Weapons or Explosive Substances

(Patria) - Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) conducted on 09 and 10 January 2025 in the area of Mostar, upon an oral order of the Municipal Court of Mostar and under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Mostar, an operational action code-named "Golf", during which they carried out searches of residential and auxiliary buildings and movable property at one location, as well as crime scene investigations at two locations.

Two persons were deprived of liberty and taken to SIPA premises for criminal processing and questioning as suspects, after which they were handed over within the legal deadline to the competent prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Mostar.

During the operational action "Golf", six rifles of various calibres, 459 rifle cartridges, five pieces of industrial explosives, two slow-burning fuses, two automatic rifle magazines, and other items that may serve as evidence in criminal proceedings were discovered and temporarily seized.

The aforementioned activities were carried out due to the existence of reasonable suspicion that the criminal offence of "Unauthorised Possession of Weapons and Explosive Substances" as prescribed by the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina had been committed.

During the implementation of this operational action, cooperation was achieved with the Ministry of Interior of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, the Mine Action Centre in Bosnia and Herzegovina – BHMAC, and the Federal Administration of Civil Protection of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
