SIPA operation in Sarajevo Canton, searches at 11 locations related to attempted murder of Matej Živković

(Patria) - Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), today, by order of the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo and under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, launched an operational action "Capital" in the area of Sarajevo Canton.

The operational action "Capital" is being carried out to shed light on the criminal offense of "Murder" from Article 166 in connection with the criminal offense of "Attempt" from Article 28 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which occurred on February 15, 2022, and March 16, 2022, in Sarajevo, to the detriment of Matej Živković, Deputy Chairman of the Securities Commission of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, during which the said person was wounded by multiple bullets.

Searches are being conducted at eleven 11 locations, and during the day, suspect Jasmin Hasić will be interviewed by SIPA police officers. Also, the questioning of several persons as witnesses is planned.

Searches are being conducted in cooperation with the Federal Police Administration.

During the work on the mentioned case, SIPA police officers cooperated with the Intelligence-Security Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Center for Forensic Examination, Testing and Research of the Federal Police Administration, the Public Health Institution Institute of Forensic Medicine and the Criminalistics Technical Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska – Police Administration East Sarajevo and Sarajevo Canton.
