Sarajevo police operation: Drugs and weapons found on three arrested individuals

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Police officers of the Department for Combating Narcotic Drug Abuse - Criminal Police Sector, Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Internal Affairs Police Administration, on Thursday in the Ravne area, Mount Trebević, Stari Grad Sarajevo municipality, arrested J.A., born in 1984 in Sarajevo due to grounds for suspicion that he committed the criminal offense under Article 238, Paragraph 1 (Unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs) of the Criminal Code of FBiH.

"During the search, approximately 1,100 grams of dry herbaceous substance, resembling the narcotic drug marijuana, were found and seized from him. After the criminal investigation was completed, a report on the committed criminal offense was submitted to the competent Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton."

Another operation was carried out at 5:30 PM, when E.B., born in 1972 in Sarajevo, was arrested due to grounds for suspicion that he committed the criminal offenses under Article 238, Paragraph 1 (Unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs) in conjunction with Article 31 (Accompliceship), Article 371, Paragraph 1 (Illegal possession of weapons or explosives) of the Criminal Code of FBiH and Article 74, Paragraph 1 of the Law on Public Order and Peace of Sarajevo Canton.

"There are grounds for suspicion that he, together with individuals N.M., K.H., H.B., and S.V. (who were arrested last week), from January to March 2019, and alone after the arrest of the aforementioned individuals, made contact with previously unidentified persons, from whom he purchased undetermined quantities of narcotic drugs marijuana and speed, as well as equipment for repackaging and preparing drugs for further sale, and then sold them in the Alipašino Polje settlement, Novi Grad Sarajevo municipality. On the same day at 3:45 PM, in Prvomajska Street, Novi Grad Sarajevo municipality, a search of the individual E.B. was conducted. During the search, two live rounds were found and seized from him. A search of the apartment used by this individual in the Novi Grad Sarajevo municipality found and seized 28 packages with a dry herbaceous substance resembling the narcotic drug marijuana, one M-93 hand grenade, one pistol with a magazine and one bullet, and one mobile phone. After the criminal investigation was completed, E.B. was handed over to the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton along with an official report on the committed criminal offenses."

On Thursday at 11:00 PM, in Bajrama Zenunija Street, police officers of the IV Police Station arrested S.J., born in 1989 in Sarajevo due to grounds for suspicion that he committed the criminal offense under Article 239 of the Criminal Code of FBiH (Possession and enabling the use of narcotic drugs).

"During the search, two packages with a substance resembling the narcotic drug speed were found and seized from him." 

The prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton was informed, and the arrested individual was handed over to the premises of the Unit for Security of Objects and Detention of Detained Persons of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Internal Affairs. Police officers are continuing their work on documenting the mentioned criminal offense.
