Operation Register: Hearing for imposing restrictive measures on Saturday morning

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The BiH Prosecutor's Office will today submit a proposal for the suspects arrested in the Register operation, requesting the imposition of restrictive measures as the legal deadline of 24 hours for deciding on the suspects expires.

The hearing will be held on Saturday morning.  

In the Register operation, Predrag Kurteš, Dragan Mioković, Kemal Kačapor, and Enes Maslo were arrested on suspicion of criminal offenses of abuse of position or authority, meaning they abused their position through their actions within public procurement processes and enabled the acquisition of illegal property benefits amounting to approximately 1 million KM.

- Acting on the aforementioned Report, the Federal Police Administration, under the order of the BiH Prosecutor's Office, conducted extensive investigative actions and established grounds for suspicion that BiH citizens with initials P.K. (1953), D.M. (1958), and K.K. (1971), E.M. (1976), and a foreign national with initials A.R., during the period from 2011 to 2014, as part of an organized criminal group, through previously conceived and coordinated joint actions, proceeded to implement measures and actions aimed at concluding a detrimental contract worth 2,155,000.00 KM for the procurement of software and hardware equipment for the establishment of the Unified System of the Central Registry of BiH, with a pre-arranged supplier, by conducting a negotiation procedure without a public call, and thus acquired illegal property benefits for themselves in the amount of approximately one million KM, for which the Budget of the Federation of BiH was damaged.

In order to find evidence and items related to the commission of the criminal offenses of "Organized Crime" from Article 250 of the Criminal Code of BiH, "Money Laundering" from Article 209, paragraph 2, in conjunction with Article 124, point c of the Criminal Code of BiH, "Abuse of Position or Authority" from Article 383, paragraph 3, in conjunction with paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of FBiH, "Conclusion of a Detrimental Contract" from Article 252 of the Criminal Code of FBiH, "Giving a Gift or Other Form of Benefit" from Article 381 of the Criminal Code of FBiH, "Receiving a Gift or Other Form of Benefit" from Article 380 of the Criminal Code of FBiH, and "Forgery of an Official Document" from Article 389 of the Criminal Code of FBiH, police officers of the Federal Police Administration searched the apartments and other premises used by the suspects at multiple locations in the Sarajevo Canton.
