Operation Profit: Zijad Blekić Suspected, Investigation Expanded to More Individuals

SARAJEVO, (Patria) – Following a multi-month investigation, SIPA officers, by order of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, early this morning began the implementation of an operation codenamed „Profit“. Searches are underway at multiple locations due to the criminal offenses of organized crime and money laundering. MUP KS officers are also participating in the operation.

One of the suspects in this case is Zijad Blekić, owner of the brokerage firm Eurohaus, through which transactions related to the construction of the NLB Group headquarters in BiH, which was never built, took place. This is a continuation of the „Profit“ operation that SIPA conducted in October 2019, when one million KM, jewelry were seized, and accounts of several individuals were blocked.

As confirmed by the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, the investigation has been expanded to include more individuals. 

One of the suspects in this case, Ibrahim Jusufranić, passed away in June this year.
