OPERATION NITRO One person arrested for illegal possession of weapons and explosives

(Patria) - Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency yesterday (05.06.2024) within the operational action "Nitro", in the area of Mostar, executed an oral order of the Municipal Court in Mostar, during which a search of a house and auxiliary facilities at one location was carried out.

One person was arrested, who was processed and interviewed as a suspect. The Cantonal Prosecutor's Office Mostar will decide on the further status of the arrested person.

During the search, the following items were discovered and temporarily confiscated: M48 rifle, "zolja" hand-held rocket launcher with corresponding PBP 64 mm explosive, M80, 15 hand grenades, a machine gun and six automatic rifles of 7.62 mm caliber, four magazines for an automatic rifle, two TNT blocks of 500 and 100 grams each, a 20-centimeter-long detonating cord, a TNT block holder, explosive of unknown brand weighing about 100 grams, 530 rounds of ammunition for an automatic rifle of 7.62 millimeter caliber, body armor, and money in the amount of 5,500.00 Euros.

The operational action "Nitro" was carried out in cooperation with police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that the arrested person committed the criminal offense of "Illegal possession of weapons and explosive materials", as stipulated by the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
