MUP KS and CJB East Sarajevo Operation: Six Arrested for Drugs, Heroin Found During Searches

Police officers of the Department for Combating Narcotic Drug Abuse of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton conducted the Rujan operation on December 15th, following months of operational-tactical activities under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, and six individuals were arrested, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

The arrested individuals are R.S., born in 1987 in Sarajevo, where he resides, on grounds of suspicion of committing criminal offenses of unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs within a group of people engaged in committing criminal offenses of unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs, P.A., born in 1969 in Sarajevo, A.H., born in 1982 in Sarajevo, and S.R., born in 1977 in Sarajevo, A.S., born in 1997 in Sarajevo, residing in East Sarajevo, and K.M., born in 1982 in Sarajevo, residing in East Sarajevo. The arrested individuals are also accused of possession and use of narcotic drugs.

According to Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the penalties for these offenses can be up to ten years in prison.

Based on court orders, police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton and police officers of the CJB East Sarajevo searched apartments and other facilities used by the aforementioned individuals in the municipalities of Novi Grad Sarajevo and Istočna Ilidža.

During the searches, approximately 150 grams of a substance suspected to be the narcotic drug Heroin, packaged in several PVC bags intended for further sale, equipment for repackaging the narcotic drug, and other items that will be used in criminal proceedings were found and seized. After the criminal investigation is completed, K.M., A.H., R.S., P.A., S.R., and A.S. will be handed over to the prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo along with a report on the committed criminal offenses.

Additionally, during the proceedings, police officers questioned B.T., born in 1988 in Sarajevo, B.O., born in 1955 in Bileća, and B.A., born in 1986 in Sarajevo, all residing in Sarajevo, on grounds of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Article 238, paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, after which they were released from official premises, and a report will be submitted to the competent prosecutor against them.
