OPERATION META: Individual with initials O.M. arrested at border crossing, drugs, weapons found...

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Individuals apprehended in today's police operation "Meta" are suspected of illegally acquiring, trafficking, and selling narcotics to end consumers in the areas of Zenica-Doboj Canton, Sarajevo Canton, and wider, from June 2020 to March 2022, stated Aldina Alić, spokesperson for the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of ZDK.

S.M., who was apprehended today as part of these activities, a police officer at the Visoko Police Station, is suspected of committing the criminal offense of disclosure of official secrets and abuse of position or authority.

This operational action is being carried out in cooperation and under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of ZDK, and today actions were taken based on orders from municipal courts in Zenica and Visoko. Police teams from the Federal Police Administration, as well as the administrations of the Ministries of Internal Affairs of KS, ZDK, and Tuzla Canton, actively participated in these operations - Alić stated.

During the searches, they noted, "a certain amount of syringes and ampoules with contents that resemble a narcotic drug in appearance" were found and seized, which will be subject to further expert examination and measurement. Also found and seized were "a larger number of mobile phones, three pistols, one rifle, pistol ammunition, and other prohibited items, which will be used as evidence in further proceedings".

"Around 3:00 PM, members of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina apprehended O.M. at the border crossing, whom we were also intensively searching for and who will be processed after being brought to the official premises of the Police Directorate of the MUP of ZDK. We are still searching for another individual, K.R. from Visoko, and are working on locating him," said spokesperson Alić.
