Operation Courier: Detention requested for five arrested, bans for two

The acting prosecutor of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office proposed one-month detention for five individuals arrested in the Courier operation, which was carried out on Tuesday in Sarajevo. 

Detention was requested for lawyers Ismet Hamzić, Esad Hrvačić, Samina Skopak, and Zaim Spahović and Muamer Pito due to the risk of influencing witnesses, concealing evidence, and the risk of re-offending.

For Selma Taraniš and Vildana Ligate, prohibition measures were proposed: prohibition from leaving their place of residence and prohibition of contact with witnesses. 

The arrested individuals are charged with the criminal offense of organized crime by obtaining judgments before the Municipal Court in Sarajevo and thus illegally transferring ownership of about 70 properties in the Sarajevo Canton area, thereby acquiring significant unlawful property benefits for themselves and others.

The operation itself was preceded by long pre-investigative and investigative actions that lasted for more than a year.
