Neighbourhood Action: Fake TV Seller Defrauded Banja Luka Residents

Police officers from the Criminal Police Sector of the Banja Luka Public Security Centre undertook a series of operational and investigative measures and actions under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Banja Luka, which resulted in the collection of evidence and the arrest of S.B. (born 1968) from Zvornik, suspected of committing six criminal acts of fraud in the area of the City of Banja Luka, reports the Patria news agency.

During the implementation of the operation codenamed „Neighbour“, which was aimed at solving the criminal acts of „Fraud“ committed in May and June 2015, it was established that the individual is suspected of, with the intention of obtaining unlawful material gain, falsely presenting that he was offering for sale at a favourable price technical devices (LCD televisions, laptop computers) and other household appliances, thereby misleading the victims into giving him money to their detriment in amounts ranging from 200 to 500 BAM.

The suspect caused material damage in the amount of approximately 2,250 BAM, and during the criminal investigation, items were found and seized from him, which will be sent for expert examination in order to prove the committed criminal acts.

The duty prosecutor of the District Prosecutor's Office in Banja Luka was informed of everything, who ordered that the necessary measures and actions continue in order to clarify and prove the aforementioned criminal acts and that, upon completion of the case, in regular procedure, a report for the criminal acts of fraud be submitted against S.B., the RS Ministry of Interior announced.
