Operation Kasa: One-month detention for Krautblatt and Juretić, bans for restaurateurs

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Municipal Court in Sarajevo has ordered one-month detention for Oleg Krautblatt and Ines Juretić, suspected of computer fraud in the "Kasa" case, confirmed Azra Bavčić, spokesperson for the KS Prosecutor's Office, for the Patria agency. 

They were ordered into detention due to the risk of flight, the possibility of influencing witnesses, concealing evidence, and committing the criminal offense again. Kraublatt and Juretić are suspected of selling special software called "Inspirit Gastro" to catering establishments throughout the Federation of BiH entity, which enabled restaurateurs to evade taxes by falsifying fiscal receipts. 

The specialized program was created based on the principle of a "short and long click." This means that the employed waiters at the suspected restaurateurs used the "short click" when printing receipts for sold products, which were duly recorded in the system. However, with the "long click," manipulations were carried out, given that the cash registers also issued a receipt but did not register the turnover. 

Measures prohibiting business management, meetings with suspects, witnesses, i.e., waiters, and prohibiting access to the premises have been imposed on five suspects: Nedžad Rašidagić (Metropolis), Edin Vrećo (Kibe Mahala), Željko Ljubas (Luka), Nejra Ibrović (Montana), and Šaćir Čedić (Vatra).

It is not yet known how much tax has been evaded in this way, but it is suspected to be in the millions. Otherwise, one of the suspects, Bakir Hadžić, owner of the restaurant Una, is expected to appear before the investigative bodies today. 

During the operation, searches were carried out at more than 30 locations in Sarajevo, and 13 people were detained. Some of the establishments were sealed by the Tax Administration of FBiH on Friday due to observed irregularities in operations.
