Operation "Jezero": Four persons arrested for marijuana production and dealing

Police officers of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Doboj Police Administration yesterday arrested four persons from the Pelagićevo municipality area, identified as B.S., N.M., L.M. and M.Đ., on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of „Unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs“, reports the Patria news agency.

These individuals are suspected of having, as an organized criminal group, cultivated cannabis and produced the narcotic drug marijuana, which they sold in the Pelagićevo municipality area.

Based on a warrant obtained from the Modriča Basic Court, searches were conducted yesterday at three locations in the Pelagićevo municipality area.

During the search of the house used by M.Đ. as a member of the household, 27 cannabis plants (5-7 cm tall) grown in pots were found and seized, along with a plastic bag containing green plant matter morphologically resembling the narcotic drug marijuana with a total weight of 1.56 grams, a glass jar containing green plant matter morphologically resembling the narcotic drug marijuana with a total weight of 31.426 grams, one digital scale, one grinder with traces of green plant matter, and other items that can be used for cultivating cannabis and producing the narcotic drug marijuana.

During the search of the house owned by L.M., which is also used by his son N.M. as a member of the household, the following items were found and seized: 261 rounds of rifle ammunition of various calibers, 30 rounds of pistol ammunition, and three hand grenades.

During the search of the house used by B.S. as a member of the household, a pistol for which he did not possess a permit was found and seized, along with two empty pistol magazines.

Following the criminal investigation, the arrested individuals were today handed over to the Doboj District Prosecutor's Office, along with a report on the committed criminal offense.

The operational action codenamed „Jezero“ was conducted with the aim of gathering material evidence and uncovering the criminal group involved in the unauthorized production and sale of narcotic drugs, the RS Ministry of Interior announced.
