SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Municipal Court in Sarajevo has ordered one-month custody for two individuals arrested in the "Surgeon" operation, while the other two have been released, confirmed the spokesperson for the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, Azra Bavčić.
Doctor Dragiša Đogović and nurse Eldina Handžić remain in custody. The Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office's motion to impose custody was rejected by the Municipal Court for doctors Emir Baraković and Haris Pandža.
Custody for Đogović and Handžić was ordered due to the risk that the suspects, if released, could influence witnesses, conceal evidence, and due to the risk of recidivism.
The "Surgeon" operation was carried out on Friday, with searches conducted at the premises of the General Hospital "Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš" as the individuals are employees of that hospital. The Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office suspects them of abuse of office and accepting bribes.
