FUP operation in Sarajevo: Citizens of China and Brazil found, suspected of being victims of prostitution

(Patria) - Police officers of the Federal Police Administration conducted searches at several locations where multiple foreign female citizens from China and Brazil were found, suspected of providing sexual services for money.

The operation was carried out under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, by order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in cooperation with the Service for Foreigners' Affairs in the Sarajevo Canton area, with the aim of dismantling an international criminal group linked to the criminal offense of "International Procurement of Prostitution" under Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the search, a larger amount of money was found, as well as other items suspected to originate from the commission of the criminal offense.

The foreign female citizens were handed over to the jurisdiction of the Service for Foreigners' Affairs.

The Federal Police Administration will continue its work in the coming period on documenting the criminal offense of "International Procurement of Prostitution" under Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the FUP stated.
