FUP Operation: Searches and arrests at multiple locations in FBiH for ATM and gas station robberies, money theft

(Patria) - Officials of the Federal Police Administration (FUP) are conducting the "Orka" operation since this morning, which includes 14 members of an organized criminal group suspected of several different criminal offenses including robbery, theft, and production and trafficking of narcotic drugs, confirmed Marina Zović from FUP for the Patria News Agency.

She confirmed that 13 individuals have been apprehended, while one person is outside of BiH, and some are serving prison sentences. The investigation covered the period from 2014 to 2019, and the group robbed ATMs, gas stations, money transports, and shopping malls in Mostar, Jablanica, Kupres, Sarajevo, and Čitluk. 

"Their modus operandi involved camouflage uniforms, long firearms, and pistols, and the Intelligence-Security Agency made a significant contribution to our investigation. Support for today's operation comes from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska and cantonal Ministries of Internal Affairs," said Zović. 

This group gained nearly one million KM in profit, while causing multi-million damage to individuals and legal entities.

The arrested individuals will be processed criminally in Mostar and Sarajevo, and after 24 hours, they will be handed over to the Prosecutor's Office of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, which is leading the investigation.
