Dirhem Campaign: Donate a Sheep, Goat or Cow to Returnee Families

Humanitarian organization Dirhem aims to help those in need over a longer period. As part of this effort, they have launched a project for long-term assistance to poor families from rural areas, settled by returnees, reports the Patria news agency.

The project involves the procurement of livestock (cows, sheep, goats, etc.), donating them to needy families, and monitoring the implementation of the mentioned donation over a period of 4 years.

This project is being implemented throughout 2016 (procurement and donation of livestock), and as a special phase, it is planned that by the month of Ramadan, specifically by the tenth day of Ramadan, we will collect 70 goats or sheep and hand them over to poor returnee families in the towns of Skender Vakuf, Livno, and surrounding villages.

The long-term effects of this project are very positive. Our volunteers will visit and offer participation in the project to livestock breeders from the mentioned and neighboring municipalities, and we currently have 10 adult goats secured, says Dirhem.

Keeping domestic animals such as cows, goats, and sheep ensures a significant source of healthy food for each family (milk, meat, cheese), as well as financial profit from the sale of calves, lambs, and through incentives from state institutions.

- On this occasion, we invite our benefactors to join this project according to their means. We also invite our valuable congregations and citizens' associations outside BiH to join this noble deed. It is possible to pay 180 KM for one sheep/goat, as well as smaller amounts for this purpose. Those who wish to donate money for a cow, which costs approximately 2,400 KM, or a part of the money for the purchase of a cow, can also do so via our giro account or PayPal, they explain.
