Operation Bura: Five arrested for extortion and usury

Federal Police Administration officers, after a multi-month investigation, on March 21, 2016, in the early morning hours, under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, began implementing the operational action "Bura" in the area of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, reports the Patria News Agency.

Within the mentioned operation, and by orders of the Municipal Court in Mostar, searches began at four locations in the area of the municipality of Mostar and one search in the area of the municipality of Čitluk, and four individuals from Mostar with initials Z.G., M.M., M.I., and J.A., and one individual from Čitluk with initials M.T. were deprived of their liberty.

The individuals deprived of their liberty are linked to the criminal offense of "Association for the Commission of Criminal Offenses" under Article 340, in conjunction with the criminal offenses of "Extortion" under Article 295 and "Usury" under Article 298 of the Criminal Code of FBiH.

So far, during the searches, several mobile phones and SIM cards, notebooks, bank cards, personal documents, and other items related to the criminal offenses in question have been found and seized. Also, 19 packages containing an unknown substance resembling the narcotic drug "Cocaine" have been found, as well as certain quantities of firearms.

After the searches are completed, the individuals deprived of their liberty will be brought to the official premises of the Federal Police Administration for criminal processing, after which they will be handed over to the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton for further jurisdiction within the legal deadline, along with a report on the committed criminal offense.
