OPERATION 'AUTO PIJACA 2020': Cigarettes and cut tobacco worth 41,300 KM seized

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Officials of the Indirect Taxation Authority (UIO), Enforcement Department, Regional Center Sarajevo, in cooperation with members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, Police Station Novi Grad, carried out the operational action "Autopijaca 2020", which was aimed at suppressing the illegal sale of excise goods.

During the operation at the "Sarajevo" car market, 13 individuals were found selling cigarettes and tobacco at improvised stands, for which they did not have credible documentation of origin, nor were they marked with excise stamps issued by the UIO.

A total of 4,355 packs of cigarettes and 130.1 kg of fine-cut tobacco, with a total value of 41,300 KM, were seized.

Legal measures and actions will be taken against the said individuals before the locally competent court.
