The Cantonal Court in Bihać today sentenced Aida Duraković from Bihać to 15 years in prison for the murder of Fatima Vilić from Bosanska Otoka, reports the Patria news agency.
Sixty-year-old Fatima Vilić lived alone in her family home in the village of Mračaj near Bosanska Otoka. She had 30 stab wounds from a knife. Three days after the brutal murder, the elderly woman was found by her former daughter-in-law.
The prosecution proved the guilt of Aida Duraković, who, out of self-interest, on April 20, 2005, as a co-perpetrator together with Amel Alagić, committed the aforementioned criminal offense.
The time spent in custody from November 21, 2015, will be credited towards the prison sentence of the convicted Aida Duraković.
The Una-Sana Canton Police managed to solve this case at the end of 2015, ten years after the murder.
