The caucus of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina submitted an initiative for the dismissal of the Minister of Security of BiH, Nenad Nešić, back on May 23, 2024.
This agenda item will only be considered on June 20, the date set for the session of the House of Representatives of the PA BiH. From then until now, Nešić has earned a few more 'sins' in his public appearances, but the main reason for this initiative is Nešić's guest appearance on a Serbian television on May 21, 2024, during which he insulted victims and denied the genocide in Srebrenica.
“Nenad Nešić’s latest statement is not the first one showing he is unworthy of the position he holds, but it is particularly offensive to the victims of genocide, and his dismissal from the position of Minister of Security of BiH is necessary. With this statement, Nešić has committed a criminal offense prescribed by Article 145a, paragraphs 1, 3, 4, 5, and 7 of the Criminal Code of BiH, and the SDA caucus calls on the Prosecutor's Office of BiH to initiate criminal proceedings against him,” the SDA emphasized.
The Islamic Community in BiH also reacted to Nešić’s appearance and the insult to the victims of genocide, sharply condemning such an outburst from the state Minister of Security.
This initiative represents an attempt by the SDA caucus to ensure accountability for unacceptable statements and actions of state officials, and to protect the dignity of the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica.
However, it is clear that this dismissal will not pass due to the balance of power within the House of Peoples of the PA BiH, as SNSD has four delegates, and it is unlikely that HDZ BiH will support the reconstruction either.
And in this example, we see how irrelevant the Trojka is in state government, especially after they very consciously gifted the fourth delegate to SNSD and handed them the tool called BLOCKADE.
We remind you that Nešić, with armed escort, was registering Bosniaks who went to Friday prayers, he refused to give consent for the commemoration and burial in Srebrenica because the request contained the word genocide, he raised three fingers in front of the BiH Parliament building, he did the same publicly on an FTV show, he denies genocide, and finally, he told jokes on the show ‘Ćirilica’ with Milomir Marić, thus mocking the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica.
But the president of Narod i Pravda, Elmedin Konaković, who is also the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, on April 29, 2023, in his own way, in front of the cameras, relativized Nešić’s behavior, again blaming the public for critically observing Nešić’s barbarism. Therefore, today this joke is also on Konaković, who remained indifferent to all of Nešić’s previous arrogant behavior.
Elmedin Konaković, Minister of Foreign Affairs and president of Narod i Pravda, relativized Nešić’s behavior.
“We barely got Nenad Nešić through – because he raised three fingers. That’s it! A Serb raised three fingers and someone was surprised. And I will be honest now – Nešić is the best cadre among the ministers from RS,” Konaković said.
And precisely because of this ‘best minister,’ Konaković had to address his colleagues from Slovenia, Romania, and Poland in writing, because their citizens could not vote in BiH in the European elections.
Konaković called the decision of the ministers from RS not to give consent “an act of malignant Russian influence” in BiH.
And there is no doubt that Russian influence is malignant in BiH, just as there is no doubt that the rapid establishment of government, in which BiH institutions, as well as blockade mechanisms, have been handed over to people who are precisely implementing Russian policy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is malignant.
