Agrokomerc to process 700 tonnes of cucumbers, also launches tarpaulin production

The once-giant of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian economy, „Agrokomerc“ from Velika Kladuša, will launch the production of tarpaulins, plastic pools and similar assortment from August 1, which is a chance for 30 new workers, and by the end of this year, space will be created for an additional 20 new jobs, confirmed for the Bosnian news agency Patria by Fadil Bihorac, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of this company.

Production will be launched in cooperation with a partner, the Dutch company EPS, which already operates in many countries around the world, so the assortment produced in Velika Kladuša will be manufactured exclusively for the foreign market.

The giant from Velika Kladuša, most of whose assets have been destroyed, could rise from the ashes again. Bihorac says that the company's management is more determined than ever to activate all the assets of this enterprise for production purposes and the creation of new value, while the part that has no perspective or economic justification within that program will be offered on the market through the FBiH Privatisation Agency.

Economic analysts agree that strengthening Agrokomerc means a better life not only for citizens in Velika Kladuša, but also in the entire Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- About ten days ago, we restarted cucumber processing at Agrokomerc. We employed between 60 and 70 of Agrokomerc's former workers who had been unemployed until then. That is our great success – says Bihorac.

- In the next three months, we will purchase and process about 700 tonnes of cucumbers, and only those produced on plantations in Krajina. That means dozens of additional jobs for our people – Bihorac told Patria.
