The FBiH Banking Agency (FBA) is asking leasing companies to provide acceptable and adequate repayment terms for existing claims to lease service users who have suffered damages in the natural disaster, reports the BH News Agency Patria.
The FBA requests that leasing companies submit to the Agency within the next seven days a preliminary assessment of the number and amount of lease agreements by business areas that are likely to be at risk of non-payment due to damages suffered in the natural disaster, or agreements for which damage has already been reported, as well as an overview of the organizational units of leasing companies located in the affected areas.
- Leasing companies are obliged, in accordance with their internal acts, the assessment of management functions, their own financial capabilities, and the capabilities of lease users, to make every effort to enable lease service users who have suffered damages in the natural disaster to have acceptable and adequate repayment terms for existing claims in accordance with professional and moral principles, as well as to consistently implement the provisions of the legal regulations related to the protection of financial services consumers - it is stated in the FBA Instruction signed by Director Zlatko Barš.
The FBiH Banking Agency also sent a letter to banks and microcredit organizations (MKO) based in the Federation of BiH late last week to assess the risk situation caused by the natural disasters in May this year.
