Affairs of Judge Miletić: She didn't pay installments for the apartment, threatened, acquitted Miloš Stupar of genocide

At the order of the prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, police officers of SIPA, in addition to judge of the Appellate Division of the Court of BiH Azra Miletić, deprived of liberty Ramo Brkić and Senad Šabić, defendants against whom proceedings are being conducted at the Court of BiH, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Ramo Brkić is suspected of giving gifts or other forms of benefit, as well as Senad Šabić, and judge Miletić of the criminal offense of receiving gifts or other forms of benefit and violation of law by a judge.

- The suspects will be handed over to the prosecutor in charge during the day, who will question them as suspects and make a decision on filing a motion for detention or prohibition measures - stated the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.

Ramo Brkić is the former commissioner of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Una-Sana Canton, who was sentenced to 11 years in prison for organized crime, organizing the cultivation and international sale of skunk, as well as abuse of official position.

Senad Šabić, also a member of Brkić's group, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for organized crime and drug trafficking. At that time, Satko Kekić was also sentenced with them to five years in prison by a first-instance verdict of the Court of BiH.

In November 2014, the Court of BiH partially overturned the verdict in the case of Ramo Brkić and others.

Incidentally, Miletić had three trials scheduled for March, and one on March 30 was for former MMA fighter Ajlin Ahmić, who was sentenced to one year in prison for cannabis smuggling, but filed an appeal to the Appellate Division of the Court of BiH.

Various stories have been associated with Miletić before, and a lawsuit was filed against her for non-payment of installments for an apartment she bought in 2005 and later sold.

In 2010, she acquitted defendant Miloš Stupar of genocide in Srebrenica in 1995, while he had been sentenced to 40 years in prison by a first-instance verdict.

She is also charged with alleged threats made to a prosecutor from Tuzla who accused judge Miletić's son of causing minor bodily harm.

WHO IS AZRA MILETIĆ

She was born in Jajce in 1953. She graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Sarajevo in 1976, and after an internship and passing the bar exam on April 1, 1978, she was appointed judge of the Municipal Court in Lukavac. She worked in Tuzla as a judge, and then as a private attorney.

In November 1985, she was appointed judge of the Higher Court in Tuzla (now Cantonal Court), where she worked on first-instance and then second-instance criminal matters. During the war period (1992-1995), she was appointed to the Supreme Court of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

From 2000 to 2004, she worked as a deputy prosecutor at the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Tuzla. During her prosecutorial term, she was a member of the Presidency of the Association of Prosecutors of the Federation of BiH.

On October 7, 2004, she was appointed judge of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, first to the first-instance criminal division, and then, in 2005, assigned to the Appellate Criminal Division, where she still performs judicial duties.
