The 'Asim' Affair: Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office is investigating for elements of criminal offense

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office is conducting checks to determine if there are elements of a criminal offense and sufficient grounds to launch an investigation, said Azra Bavčić, spokesperson of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office regarding the audio recording published by Semir Efendić, Mayor of Novi Grad municipality. 

"At this stage, we are unable to provide further details," said Bavčić. 

Semir Efendić was questioned as a witness yesterday, and as he previously explained, he received the recording before the election of the President of the SDA Sarajevo Cantonal Board. The actors in the recording are also Sabahudin Delalić, SDA representative in the KS Assembly, Muhamed Šehović, and Velid Tvrtković. 

The main actor in the recording is Asim Sarajlić, the former vice-president of SDA and president of the Cadre Commission, who spoke about "finalizing votes", and in return, he offered a job to the wife of the lobbied delegate. Yesterday, after leaving the session of the SDA Collegium where the entire affair was discussed, Sarajlić confirmed to the media that he has not yet been summoned to the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, but he expects that to happen soon. Sarajlić is already included in the "Bosna" case, and he is accused of receiving a reward or benefit for trading influence. 

Asim Sarajlić, along with Amir Zukić, Mirsad Kukić, and Esed Džananović, is accused of working on the employment of person A.Š. in a working position at Elektroprivreda BiH in Sarajevo from May 2016 to August 26, 2016.
