Ademović and Petrović at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Spring Session: BiH Recognized as a Partner Country

(Patria) - The Chairman of the Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PSBiH) to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (NATO PA) Kemal Ademović and the Deputy
Chairman of the Delegation Obren Petrović are participating in the Spring Session
of the NATO PA, which is being held in Sofia, Republic of Bulgaria.

The first day was opened with sessions of the Committee on Economy and Security, the Committee on Science and Technology, and the Committee on Defence and Security of the NATO PA, where the preliminary draft report "Western Balkans: Renewed Security Challenges on NATO's Doorstep", by rapporteur Lord Mark Lancaster from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, was discussed, and in which the members of the PSBiH Delegation actively participated.

The Delegation members also held a working meeting with the Secretary General of the NATO PA Ruxandra Popa, during which they reviewed the fulfilled conclusions from the previous meeting regarding the organization of the Rose-Roth seminar and the held North Atlantic Council event in Sarajevo. Furthermore, the visit of the Joint Defence and Security Committee of the PSBiH to Brussels was assessed as successful and an example of good practice, which, as stated, should continue in the future.

Ms. Popa stated that the NATO PA recognizes Bosnia and Herzegovina as a partner country, and precisely for this reason, as announced by the President of the NATO PA Michal Szczerba, the improvement of the status and increase in the number of members of the PSBiH Delegation were considered.

It was emphasized that the commitment of the NATO PA to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkan region is also shown by the reports on the committees' agendas. The meeting concluded with a discussion on the upcoming activities of the NATO PA, as well as the announcement of the next Spring Session in Dayton, USA, which, as stated, will be dedicated to marking the anniversary of the signing of the General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina, by its very location.
