(Patria) - Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman spoke by phone on Monday with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who thanked the Kingdom for its role in gathering international support for Palestinian statehood, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported, as cited by Al Arabiya.
Abbas "expressed his deep gratitude for the Kingdom's efforts and honorable stances that have contributed to the commitment of many countries to recognize the State of Palestine," according to SPA.
He also thanked the Saudi leadership for "tireless efforts in coordinating positions to ensure the greatest international support for the Palestinian cause" during last month's conference in New York on the two-state solution.
Prince Mohammed and Abbas also discussed the situation in Gaza.
The Crown Prince affirmed the Kingdom's condemnation of "crimes, brutal practices, and displacement attempts" against the Palestinian people and called on the international community to end the "catastrophic consequences" of the Israeli war and to protect civilians, SPA said.
